Shona Hi! I meant just the message about kipling etc. On my Hillbilly ritual site. I am thinking hard about another blog for u. I want to see dorchs' trailer don't u? Check his site. He is nice. The diff. between a redneck & a hillbilly...
A redneck is generally thot of as some one who is a narrow minded bigot who likes country music. It is used a a degrogatory description usally. the red neck part comes from the idea that their necks are red because they generally are laborors that work in the sun. Of course that is a stereo-type because all people who are laborers and like country music are not narrow minded bigots. Some of them are quite nice acually. Dortch was using it as a joke. Hillbilly is sometimes lumped w/ redneck but, It has to do more w/ geography(being born in the hills) the billy part has to do w/ a male goat( a billy goat). I think because they run around the hills and hillbillys raise goats alot. there is a lot to say on this subject as there is quite a bit of history about hillbillys. I'v got to go to work but, will talk more about this later. maybe someone else has a comment about it?

O.K.I looked hillbilly & redneck up in the 'Morris Dictionary of Word and Phrase Origins'. I was basically right. I'm trying to think of some american movies that depict hillbillys in a positive light. I will blog some pic.s of my ancesters.
My father is from Pennsalvania coal mining territory. My mother is from the hills of New Mexico.
I will tell you when I do the new blog.

Shona, Ihad a lovely time in the dump truck today. It is a 18 ton truck used to haul rock, sand, and other materials for building roads. We left early in the morning and drove east into the sunset. It a beautiful drive through the mountains. In some places the mist was so thick we had to use the windshield wipers. On the way home we traveled west.(22 tons heavier w/rock)Along a river for miles w/maple & oak trees lining the river, their leaves gold and yellow and the tall fir trees, dark green. We saw herds of Elk and flocks of Canadian geese & ducks. You could look down into the river & see the fish jumping. It really is a beautiful place where I live.

When i stand in front of the mirror, i think i am so perfect. so it is a shock to me when others dont feel that.
and accepting you are ugly has an amazing sound to it. after this looks dont matter, you can say anything to me and i wont care. isn't that freeing.

i am sure you know this, but i find it so interesting that, when columbus chanced upon america, he was actually looking for india. thus the native americans were first called indians. of course he soon realised his mistake and to differentiate, the native of this new land, he perhaps thought of them as Red, as opposed to us, Broen indians.
