Silence in the room

Have you been in a room where you were loved. And every brick and mortar sang out with its love for you. And you remember every corner and its furniture, even after it has been moved around and crimson curtains added, even after the earlier inhabitants have died. Of course memories remain. And you eyes well up with ignored tears as you sleep again within a well-known space. Well known to you, familiar to your skin, heart-breaking in its sadness and remembrances of the past. All you can hope then is for the room to still love you. A changed love, a different love, a more turbulent, hate-love love.

All you can hope is that the room still talks to you.

And you lie awake in the room.

And you wait for her to talk back to you.

And you wait for her to love you still.

And you ….
